2nd Annual Sand Castle Competition

Last year when my mom was here for a visit we found a national sand castle competition to take her too. A few weeks ago it was back and since our time in Florida is coming to an end we had go see it again. Wyatt was way more interested in it this year, plus he always loves a good day at the beach!

To start off our day of fun he thought it would be a good idea to rub sand all over him..and then me :)

A few nights ago it was 60 degrees. Sounds nice, right?! Well, it turns out we were freezing!! Yep, no lie I was so cold I turned on the heat in the car. I guess that's what happens by the 3rd year of living in the sunshine state. We got acclamated just in time to move back to Utah in 6 months :) The best part about it all?! Wyatt got to wear jeans and I LOVE little boys in jeans. Especially this little boy :)

October. What a fun month! There are so many fun Fall/Halloween activities to do. We've made sugar cookies, caramel apples, carved/painted pumpkins, gone to pumpkin patches & Halloween parties and Wyatt ended up wearing his Halloween costume a lot! 19 Months

I know Wyatt is the center of every post but I still feel like I've neglected putting up all the cute pictures of him. He's lots of fun right now always jabbering, pointing everywhere, laughing all the time and just being a cute, curious boy. We spend our days going to the pool, to the beach, story time, playing with friends, etc. I LOVE spending so much one on one time with him because in 3 months his world is going to be rocked. The addition will be good for him and we're so excited for his sister to come, but I love giving him all of my attention for a little bit longer:)

Finally!! After missing out on fall weather for the last two years, we finally had a reason to be in Utah to enjoy some of it:) My cute friend/roommate got married and Adam let me & Wyatt fly back to be part of their day! It doesn't hurt that Wyatt gets a chance to see lots of grandmas, grandpas and cousins while we're at it! Even though it kind of felt like we never left, we had a super fun trip home.

Every year Adam goes to the first away BYU game with his brothers and for the past two years that means my sister-in-law and the kids come visit me the same weekend! Wyatt was so excited to have cousins to play with again. After being around cousins all summer he was kind of lonely when we got back to Florida. Good thing he'll have a permanent friend to play with in January:) Here's the weekend's events:

We had a fun weekend, thanks for coming! The only problem is I don't have any pictures of the boys trip. I guess we might need to think about getting a second camera:)

On Labor day as they were leaving Adam's best friend from forever Brandon and his wife Michelle came for a visit. They were staying in Miami so we headed to the east coast for the first time since living in Florida. I keep reminding Adam that 9 months will fly by and then we won't live by all of these fun places anymore. Although I have to admit, I'm glad we had a reason to go to Miami; when you already live by awesome beaches Miami doesn't have much to offer. On the way we did see a few fun things:

Well, we finally did it. After living in Florida for 2 years we made our way up to the Magic Kingdom. It was the best birthday present ever...except the time I got engaged:) We had so much fun with Wyatt, plus my friend/Wyatt's girlfriend Jessica came with us too. Wyatt (and Adam) lasted all the way until the fireworks went off and the park was closed. I loved it, all of it. The happiest place on earth will keep it's title. Happy Birthday to me!!

Happy 4th of July! This is for sure my favorite holiday! It all started at my grandparents ranch. We used to have the celebration of all celebrations with decorations, a parade, a program, swimming, barbecue, baseball, fireworks, you name it:) We would drive 14 hours each way every summer just to be there, so it must have been good. We still like to keep the tradition alive at my parents house. We had a great day celebrating America, the founding of our country, and the freedom we all enjoy!

Unfortunately I was having so much fun I forgot to take too many pictures...there's always next year:)

Summer so far...

I love summer! Love the weather, love the playtime and LOVE the fact that I get 5 months off work to spend everyday with my Wyatt:) First stop a fun roommate weekend in New Mexico. We all had our kids (minus Bradley who stayed in Texas...next time:) and two of the group were pretty pregnant so there was mostly a lot of eating, playing outside with the kids and relaxing. It was lots of fun and always easy to pick up where we left off. Here's a few pictures, mostly of the kids:

Next stop, Utah. First off my blood has thinned! I've been freezing here until literally 2 days ago when it finally hit in the 80's. I'm a big baby now! That Florida weather will do it to ya, but on the other hand I'm so glad to be out of that summer heat and humidity:) We've been having lots of fun with the family. Wyatt loves playing with his cousins! I can't even get a picture of EVERYTHING Wyatt's into, but here's a few shots I did get:

P.S. We finally got Wyatt's 1 year old pictures taken so you can get excited for that. Yes, I realize he's now 14 months old, but once a procrastinator always a procrastinator. Thank goodness for digital cameras, I don't think I've missed too many shots in the last two months:)

Now that Wyatt is one year old, he's been doing lots of big boy things! Before you look any further I have a disclaimer: Wyatt wears onesies/t-shirts a lot! It's hot here and he's a boy and he's a sweat monster so if we're not going anywhere he may as well be comfortable, right?! He does wear a full set of clothes whenever we leave the house, I promise:)

Happy 1st Birthday Wyatt!!

What a fun boy to celebrate a birthday with!! We can't believe he's already one, but it's so fun to see him grow up! Everyday he does something new and everything he does is cute (even throwing a tantrum:). Wyatt was lucky to get a whole birthday week with my parents in town. On the day before his birthday he had a friend party at the park with swinging, pizza and his very own cake that I thought sure he would eat right up...I guess the frosting kind of freaked him out!

Then on Tuesday, his actual birthday, we spent the morning at the beach and shared some homemade ice cream. That night we went downtown to have dinner and more ice cream:) I love when my mom's in town--that equals ice cream twice a day!

Can it really be true that our baby boy is almost a year old? I wish time didn't move quite so fast but I love to see him grow and learn so much everyday! It sure is fun watching him turn into a little boy. Wyatt's life on a daily basis consists of eating, walking around the ottoman, pulling all the DVD's out of the cupboard, walking holding the walls, pulling all the books off of the book shelf, walking around the couch, pulling all his clothes off the changing table, a little army crawl, then to finish it off he pulls all the shoes out of the basket:)

We're on our way back to Utah for a visit on Thursday! We're so excited!! Wyatt can't wait to play with all his grandparents, cousins, aunts & uncles and all other friends:) Last summers trip was filled with swimming, birthdays, friends, Bear Lake, 4-wheeling, sleepovers, and lots of snuggles. Wyatt did his first army crawl yesterday. I was going to start his bath and peeked in to find him rolling onto his stomach headed toward his changing table. I mean realistically he only pulled himself along the carpet about 8 inches, but he's been getting so frustrated that he can't move that I was super excited for him. Once he made it to his destination, he was rewarded with a game of pulling all of his clothes off the changing table.

I'm excited for this kid. He's really going places now:)

11/22/10...really?! Where has the year gone? Happy 9 month birthday to you Wyatt! I think right now he's learning something new everyday (and we are too).

He's loves to eat and can feed himself bread and rice krispies, so big. We also practice walking and crawling but this babe is pretty much still immobile...not a problem here, I can wait a few more months before I have to chase him every direction. Some things he has mastered are smiling, laughing, jumping, jabbering, and waking up snuggling in Mom and Dad's bed, oops! It's okay, he has a lot of years to be big and sleep by himself in his own bed:)

8 Months!

Happy 8 months baby! I say this every time but it's really hard to believe it has already been 8 months since this babe came into our lives. Time is moving so fast, but I feel like we've enjoyed every minute and everyday is always something fun and new:) I never put his stats, but you'll see by the pictures that Wyatt's plenty healthy with a lot of delicious rolls to eat up. We LOVE him SO much!!!!!

This is how the day started out...

You see that face and think innocent, right?!

Until you look a little closer and see the kung-fu grip he has on my pumpkin

I should have seen that as a sign of things to come.

I never knew an immobile baby could get into so much trouble. Here's the gist of it: Wyatt was busy bouncin' in his jumper, he loves wrappers so I gave him a nice shiny Twix wrapper (all sealed up with the Twix bar inside) to play with and, well you can see where this is going. I was honestly no further than 8 ft away from him the entire time, but all of the sudden I turned around to this:

I love the last picture as he is licking away any last remnants of chocolate on the hand I'm not holding. I guess if you get enough slobber on a wrapper the seal just splits right open?! I'm happy to know that my 7 month old already shares my love for chocolate:)

I know this blog is starting to sound real exciting, but for a 6 1/2 month old it's big time! We decided it was time to get Wyatt a big boy chair for our table. He seemed really excited about it and even came with me to pick out his seat:)

First he read the instructions so he could tell Adam how to put it together:

Finally, it was time for some cereal!

Yum! I want to eat those cheeks.

Then we thought, why not try a sippy cup too while we're at it!

I decided to play dress up with Wyatt the other day to see if any of the Halloween costumes I have will fit him ON Halloween. Adam said he's not a doll, but sometimes we can pretend:)

I had a really fun birthday...besides the fact that I turned 27! Something about that number just screams old, but it's been a year worth getting older. I mean, look at what I got out of it:

Plus Adam, Wyatt and I went out to Red Robin's for dinner, my favorite:)

Yep, right after the picture Wyatt let go of the straw and flipped mint brownie milkshake all over, he thought it was delicious!

Then, Adam got me these shelves/drawers to make Wyatt a play corner (a corner's the best we could do in a two bedroom apartment) I love it! Oh yea, and Wyatt does too:)

We also had a party with confetti cake and friends but I forgot to take pictures. Sad. So, here's some of the cute friends that WERE there but are now moving to Wyoming, sad again!

Happy 6 months to my Wyatt baby. We love him so much! What a little sweetie he is; always happy and content. We haven't had any unpleasant surprises yet with this kid. He's pretty much perfect as seen below:)

3 Months

Wyatt is 3 months old and so much fun!! We've had a great time swimming, at the beach, eating sorbet, etc. He's such a happy little boy and SO good! He's full of smiles and snuggles (my favorite!). He's getting to be such a big boy, we just can't get enough!

Adam finished his first year of law school and let me just say it flew by...well for me anyways. He's now 1/3 lawyer. Hooray! Our friend Ryan graduated and was so happy all day:) What an accomplishment! Here's a few pictures from the day. I accidentally forgot my camera at the actual graduation but there's a few from a party the night before and the graduation dinner. What a fun weekend!

After Wyatt was born we had a few weeks full of visitors who wanted to meet him. First my mom and dad came, then my sister Julie, after that my sister Lisa came with my 14 year old niece Madyson and finally my sister Michelle. It was so much fun for them to come see Wyatt and what life's like in Florida. I know it took lots of planning and preparation (work, kids, school, etc.) so thanks again for coming!

I don't want this to be a novel so a quick rundown on things we did includes going to the beach, the Everglades, Grayhound dog races, lots of ice cream and dessert, the Naples Pier (I have a picture there with just about everyone I know:), shopping, golfing, PICTURES and lots of snuggles with Wyatt!

My Wyatt is already 2 months! Hard to believe, but I fall more in love everyday! He's so much fun and is really starting to smile and laugh now. He's still the best baby, only crying if he's hungry or wants a snuggle (oops, I guess he's spoiled but I can't help it!). Our doctor appointments are a week behind so I won't know his exact weight or anything until next week but let me just tell you he's really growing:) He's getting so chubby...mostly in the cheek and thigh area and I love, love it!

It's so much fun to hang out with him all day, I could really get used to this Mom business. I did go to work one night this week and I was so sad all day to leave him but Adam was home with him so it all worked out. By the way I love watching Adam play with him. He thinks his Dad's a pretty funny guy.

One Month and We're all Smiles

I can't believe it's already been a month since this little boy came into our lives. He's such a nice boy, very patient, very cuddly and so cute! I know I'm supposed to have him sleep in his crib when he naps or I'll be sorry but I just love the cuddles. So, I guess maybe I'll be sorry or maybe I'll look back and enjoy the time spent cuddling my first baby:) I can't think of a better way to spend my day!

I'm pretty sure he's been having a growth spurt lately because he eats every two hours (ouch!) and sleeps all the time...except at about 5 until 7 AM which is fine for me cause I can sleep when he sleeps. Sorry Adam who has class at 8:00 AM! The picture below shows how chubby my baby's getting with his double chin and his tummy poking out of his shirt. I love to kiss chubs!

3 weeks plus a little

I can't believe my baby is already 3 weeks old!! Everyone says time moves fast with these little babes and it is so true. Not to mention the fact that Wyatt is growing like crazy. When we went to the doctor 2 days after we left the hospital he was down to 6 lbs 4 oz which was a normal weight loss. She said at his 2 week check she would like him to be back up to his birthweight of 6 lbs 10 oz. Well, he definitely made that goal:) When we took him back he weighed 7 lbs 8 oz!! He's getting to be our big boy. He fits into all his clothes now...in fact he is almost outgrowing some of them. Not a problem though cause I'm pretty sure the bigger he gets the cuter he gets so we'll survive.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

At my follow up appointment I got good news too--I can start running again. Hooray!! I never thought I'd be so excited to start working out again--we'll see how long the excitement lasts. So, I went for my inaugural run (okay so it was more of a slow jog:) on Monday at the 3 week mark and it felt awesome!! Now if I can just figure out what to do with all this extra skin that has overtaken my stomach. That's something no one warned me about. What the heck?

Here's the story of a little boy named Wyatt. It all started on Sunday February 21st. I started the day with work from 10-4, when I got home my visiting teacher's came, then we went to our friend's son's baptism at 6:00 PM. After the baptism I was feeling way tired but I figured it was just from being on my feet all day. We finished the day over at the Hardy's house after the baptism for some dinner. At 9:00 we were saying our last thank yous and goodbyes and I had a painful contraction. By the time we made the 10 minute drive home I was having another one. These were the first contractions that actually hurt so I didn't think to much of it. I laid down for a bit once we were home. Then our friend Ryan came over at 10:00 and I didn't want to be bad company so I moved from the bed to the couch to hang out. The contractions kept coming but were anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes apart so still not too worried. He left around 11:30 and Adam and I went to bed. From 12-2 :30 the contractions kept coming but I kept waiting because I did NOT want to go to the hospital and get sent home!

Finally at 2:30 I woke up Adam and said they were painful and close together so he sat with me and timed them. By 3:30 I thought I would die but Adam was not fully on board with the fact that I was in labor. If they were even one second above 5 minutes apart he would say, that one was over 5 minutes. Funny boy, I finally made an executive decision that it was time.

We got to the hospital and I was at a 3 and 90 percent thinned. I got into a room and I really wanted an epidural at this point so after another two hours of waiting (that's another story for another time) I finally got what I wanted. Let me just tell you after having contractions for 9 hours without anything I don't know how people go natural all the way! I am a firm believer in epidurals and will be getting one with any and all future pregnancies:)

By 6 AM I was totally relaxed and from there it was all downhill. Adam and I just hung out and took naps and at noon the nurse said let's start pushing. I pushed for an hour, the doctor came in the last 10 minutes and out popped Wyatt. He didn't even make a peep. He was a little stressed when he came out cause he was stuck for a minute but once they got things going he still never cried. It kind of freaked me out cause I thought something was wrong but they said he was fine just looking around.

Seriously?! Look a those chubby little cheeks, that was seconds after birth..he must take after his mom:)

Adam said he was going to wait in the lobby smoking cigars with the boys until the baby was born. Instead he was there the whole time supporting my back while I pushed, what a guy!

And so after a long absence from the blogging world there's the story of Wyatt. He still doesn't cry much even to this day, only when he's hungry but that's okay cause I cry when I'm hungry too:)

Crazy how fast they become your whole life...what a life to have:)

First, I must preface this post with the fact that people are so generous! My friend Melissa threw me a shower a few weeks ago with some girls in the ward. Almost everyone that came is in law school or residency equaling not much money. Still they come to spend time and give without thinking a thing of it! Not to mention Melissa who threw the shower for me; look how cute:

37 Weeks

Hallelujah!! 19 more days, the time is almost here for us to meet our baby and for me to not be huge anymore:) Okay, so the pregnancy thing has really been great for me, but it will be so nice to sleep on my stomach again, ya know what I mean?!

First, here's a picture of the baby's room. Okay, in a two bedroom apartment he doesn't actually get a room...more like a space or actually a corner of the second bedroom but hey, it works!

I am planning on hanging the letters of his name in between the curtain and the crib, but since it's still undecided I guess that will happen after he gets here. Yes, a very unoriginal idea, but a good idea for whoever thought it up! We have about 10 names on the list, so I guess we'll just bring that to the hospital and call him each of them until one fits?! Who thought naming a baby would be so hard?!

Then a picture of me in all my glory, that's right 37 weeks pregnant. I still feel great--minus the not being able to sleep part. I thought this is when you're supposed to store up on sleep? Not the case here sorry to say!

Oh, what's that..you're wondering why there's a changing table in our front room next to the long board and the book shelf? Just keep saying to yourself 2 bedroom apartment after 2 1/2 years of marriage equals a lot of stuff. We put things where they fit! So, I suppose the apartment's ready for him to come home, his car seat and diaper bag are ready to go. My hospital bag--not ready yet, but I am a last minute packer like that. Oh, and it just so happens that Adam has Spring Break the week I am due. What luck!!

We are so, so excited now if time could only move a little quicker...
