Doctor of the Year

I think my dad is the nicest, cutest, best, most hardworking dad ever! I was way excited to find out that he was nominated by the medical alliance and other physicians as the Weber County Doctor of the Year. The whole family went to a dinner honoring him. It was so fun! Plus, it was at the Timbermine so the food was delicious.

When they introduced him I didn't even know about half the accomplishments on the list (he was the chief resident during residency, he co-wrote an article in a medical journal...where was I?). I know the reason I don't know all of these things is because my dad is also genuinely humble. When he stood up for his speech he said that when my mom told him he was Doctor of the Year in Weber County, that was the most embarrassed he has ever felt. He gave a great speech and was very deserving of such an honor.

One other story one of his colleagues told that night was too funny not to share. Too make a long story short, the clinic he works at wanted to get computers vs. charts for each exam room to make it more quick and convenient for the doctors. I guess everyone was on board except for my dad. So, they waited until after hours to put his computers in so he wouldn't know. The next day the doctor who had the whole thing planned never hear a thing about the computers from my dad. He went in each exam room to look and the computers were gone. He went to my dad and said, "Sandy I think someone stole all of your new computers." My dad pulled him into an exam room, opened the closet and said, "No, I just moved them to where they belong."

Thanks for being such a great doctor and a fabulous dad!
